One week to go

School ends on June 12th--Thursday. Today was the last Friday of the year for the students. I'm planning some fun activities for next week to celebrate the end of the year, and I'm organizing my room to move everything into a bigger classroom for the fall. Next week we are interviewing candidates for my "job share" position. I need to get organized by going through paperwork, making copies of IEP goals, and planning for next year.

To counter-balance the craziness, I plan to get a manicure/pedicure on Friday or Saturday of next weekend. I'm going to use the gift card that Theresa, Jen, and Travis got me for Teacher Appreciation Day. yay! I'm also excited because we head to Mississippi to visit mom and dad next week. woohoo for vacation. Jen and Damian are visiting in July so I'm excited about that one too because we plan to eat and drink, as well as explore a bit of Oregon. We are planning to camp at Crater Lake and visit the ocean, in between relaxing and enjoying the unique city of Eugene.

In between these events I am going to try to spend one day a week working on school stuff for next year, organize and decorate the house, talk my landlord and husband into getting a dog, watch Gilmore Girls, and perhaps enjoy some other hobbies.

This weekend is busy too. We have two sets of company coming to visit. Travis' friend from high school, Alex, and his wife are coming to visit for the Prefontaine classic track event. Cousin Torey is coming to visit to see Eugene. It should be fun and busy! Hopefully the weather improves so we can play outside and explore the city a bit.
