PENNY!
Penny, our beautiful, smart, social, adorable, sharp-toothed puppy is here! She is a wild child, with a good heart. She thinks everything is very exciting; she loves being outside and really loves getting into everything! She is perfect. She figured out how to go down the stairs in one day. She is over half way there on potty training. She is learning the walk on a leash. Sh ehas learned that she hates bitter apple spray! She is trying to eat my latop and my right hand as I type. The dog book we are reading says that week 8 may be a "fear period". So far, we have seen NO FEAR! We went for our first real walk tonight. We made it 3 blocks, then turned around. We saw many loud cars, a motorcycle, another dog on a leash, and way too much noise for our residential neighborhood. Tomorrow is the last day of school, then I have an in-service day on Friday. Penny will be home alone for the next two days, then we will get to play together and learn together. We are both very excited. Travis is excited that he won't have to ride his bike home from work each day at lunch to eat lunch with Penny. She is cute, but that is a lot of extra mileage!

A rack that holds bikes!
Happy Holidays!
Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas! This is a "catch up" post so I can show off some great pics! We are having a wonderful winter. Pam and Russ came to visit for Thanksgiving and we made tons of yummy food. We also enjoyed a relaxing weekend in Eugene. The weather was strangely warm, dry, and pleasant.
We are heading to Spokane for Christmas. The snow is already falling there so we should have a white Christmas! It is supposed to snow in Eugene this week, so I will post the winter wonderland pics when it arrives...hopefully that will be Monday morning just in time for a snow day from school! My students and I have already planned on it...
Travis and I got a Christmas tree and decorated our house with icicle lights!
I will try to remember to add more posts.

When Squirrels Attack!
DNA evidence is pending but our chief suspect is the fluffy gray that is also suspected of grand bird seed larsony. Spooky is in serious but stable condition after two rounds of facial reconstructive surgery and a tummy tuck. Spooky's sister, Squatty, had no comment.
